Good to know?
Microalgae are some of the oldest organisms on the earth. Over 2.5 billion years ago these small aquatic plants had already begun making higher orders of life possible through their photosynthesis. The beneficial properties of microalgae have been recognised and used in food supplements for millennia by many cultures and this continues to be true today. The Aztecs and Mayans, for example, supplemented their food with this valuable biomass.
Today, thanks to their numerous high-quality constituents, which are moreover available in highly concentrated form, microalgae have become a very valuable and rich food supplement, especially for those who make conscious choices regarding their diet. Over 2000 publications and studies prove this. Over 40000 species of microalgae are now known to science. The particularly robust freshwater algae Chlorella vulgaris is cultivated for ALGOMED.

Test for blue-green algal toxins [DOWNLOAD PDF | 343 kb]
Contamination with blue-green algae and their toxins is eliminated with ALGOMED. Yet this is not the case with all Chlorella products. Microscopic analyses and tests for microcystins provide information.
